These are the key days that you need to note.
October 1, 2013, this is the date when Health Insurance Market opened. People who need to buy health insurance are required to apply and check insurance options available.
January 1, 2014
If you buy insurance early in an open enrollment, your health coverage will begin as soon as January 2014.
March 31, 2014
It is Affordable Care Act Deadline. The Market-place open enrollment period closes. You cannot apply for or purchase health insurance through the Market-place until the next open enrollment period begins.
This was changed today to sometime in April. We will update this once the correct date comes out.
You are supposed to have the following documents with important information that will help to determine the kind of offer that you best fit in;
You must have a current pay stub, most recent W-2, or your tax return
You also need Social Security Numbers of every person you are purchasing insurance for.
You need existing policy numbers for previous health insurance plan.

If you have previously been denied insurance coverage, you will never be denied from January 2014.
If you fail to buy insurance, the penalty will depend on how many you are in the household and how much they earn. People who earns $35,000 or less will pay $95 while those who earn $250,000 will pay %9500. The penalty will depend on house hold earnings and size.
